First Sunday. ✨Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of His great mercy he has given us new birth into a living HOPE through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. ✨

Our last batch of pumpkin swirl bread for a while. We have really enjoyed this recipe that was included in the November bundle, but it’s time to move on. Otherwise, our waistlines will be bulging before we enjoy a single Christmas cookie.

She dressed up the table for our Thanksgiving dinner with my mom and dad while I prepped the turkey and waited for our dinner rolls to rise. I can’t think of anything I could be more grateful for than a warm home full of healthy and happy people I love so dearly. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!🌾

Such a full day...lots of baking, some last minute

Such a full day...lots of baking, some last minute grocery shopping, and the kids and I took a break mid morning to play a board game. Any guesses as to what else received a lot of our attention today?

We have so much to be grateful for.

the King of creation!
O my soul, praise Him, for He is thy
health and salvation!

His mercy doth send thee.

What the Almighty can do,
Who with His love doth befriend thee.

Let the Amen
Sound from His people again;
Gladly for aye we adore Him.

Spent the entire day painting and rearranging this

Spent the entire day painting and rearranging this room. We tucked away most of the stuffed animals, leaving only the favorites....slowly the bedrooms in this house are starting to look a little more grown up.
⁣
I also pulled out a few resources we will be enjoying next month from @thedailygraceco. My husband and I are going to use the Hymns for Advent Devotionals and as a family we will use these advent cards on Sunday evenings. I’m excited to learn more about the traditional hymns we sing this time of year and how their words tie into scripture.

Here is an excerpt from the portion on Angels We Have Heard on High, our December music study. “And here we are, reading of these shepherds thousands of years later - this instant recorded for us to read over and over. But let us not lose the magnitude of the moment recorded for us. God chose to reveal His glorious plan - the birth of His Son, Jesus Christ the Lord - to these ordinary men. And the same truth has been revealed to us....He has come and our appropriate response is to adore Him.

Happy Sunday, Friends! We have such a wonderful we

Happy Sunday, Friends! We have such a wonderful week in store; full of Thanksgiving, food, and time with family and friends. The kids and I are taking a break from school work this week and plan to spend our down time gaming, crafting, and baking.
⁣
I’m sharing another verse today to help you prepare your heart for next months morning time. Isn’t that key in teaching these truths to our kids? I know it is for me.

“The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” -John 1:29
⁣
There had been slain before the Lord a lamb every morning, and a lamb every evening, all the year round throughout the centuries of Israel’s history. Always and ever the continual sacrifice of the lamb was the symbol of Jehovah’s dwelling with his people. But John puts his finger down upon a single sacrifice, and says, “This is the Lamb.” All the other daily lambs had been but prefigurations of this. “Behold THE Lamb.”

John spent his life looking toward Jesus and declaring: “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”
– John 1:29
⁣
John was declaring the true meaning of Christmas.The gospel is the most remarkable story every told, yet the binding of the story is stitched together with ordinary details. One man and one woman beaming over one child—the child—who would take away the sins of the world.

Today was full of grocery shopping and navigating

Today was full of grocery shopping and navigating overflowing parking lots. While walking into hobby lobby I heard 3 different instances of the prolonged blaring of car horns in the street just parallel to the store. While in the store, it didn’t take long to be reminded of the stress and anxiety most people are under right now.
⁣
As we approach the month of December, and the new morning time bundle, I thought it would be nice to share some scripture references relating to Jesus as our shepherd. I hope these bring peace to those who are weary this season:

John 10:11-18
I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd. For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father.”
