We began reading The Hiding Place this week during

We began reading The Hiding Place this week during our read aloud time. There are so many wonderful things to take away from each chapter, but none so comforting as the refuge and shelter we find in remaining tethered to our Rock and our Hiding Place.

As you read the story of Corrie ten Boom’s life you find that daily scripture reading, both morning and night, were part of their families daily rhythm. Like clockwork, the Bible was opened and God’s truth was poured into all who entered their home. God’s word changed them from the inside out and was the foundation that helped them persevere under the most horrible circumstances.

Don’t ever discount the moments spent in God’s word, no matter how big or small. You are strengthening spiritual muscles little-by-little and who knows that they won’t be used in big ways some day.

In the early days our children cannot live without us, but slowly they grow up and move away. This is almost always heart-wrenching, but the process also gives us a chance to lean on our Heavenly Father and to trust Him more. God has entrusted us with a great treasure. It is our life lesson to hand it back. To let it go. Our children must not become ‘Our Precious’. In the end, we are merely mothers.”” - Cindy Rollins

I’ve really been dealing strongly with these emotions lately as I watch my children move more and more toward independence. Honestly, even though they’re still here with us, in a lot of ways I find myself missing them more often. BUT!! Moping about a child who’s growing up isn’t living. We don’t have to spend our entire motherhood pursuing something that’s always just out of reach; we can embrace “what is” and enjoy the process. Let’s treasure the moments by loving where we are, looking forward to where we’re going, and not spending all our time looking longingly backwards.

The April 2021 Morning Time Bundle is available an

The April 2021 Morning Time Bundle is available and ready to download in my shop. This month much of our learning is centered around the Willow Tree. In scripture, the Willow tree is always associated with a brook or a river, that is a perpetual source of nourishment and supply. During your morning time study you will be gathering willow limbs for your nature study and craft. I hope that as you do these things you are reminded of God’s protection and providence over you.
