A Simple Guide to Morning Time | January 2022

The way a crow

Shook down on me

The dust of snow

From a hemlock tree

Has given my heart

A change of mood

And saved some part

Of a day I had rued.

Our January poem is shorter than the ones we learn most months, but is a poem that has been learned by many students over the years. It will be one your child will learn easily and will probably remember for a long, long time.

You can learn more about this month’s poet Robert Frost: here.

You can find a selection of other poems from Robert Frost: here.

When studying Pierre Edouard Frère I found that he is known for sensitively portraying the lower class with dignity and charm. You will find that this artist had a big heart. I hope you enjoy learning more about him and enjoy his work as much as I did.

You can find this months art piece here: here.

This month we are continuing our study of the character qualities of God, specifically that He is omnipresent.

Our memory verse is:

Psalm 139:7-10 – “Whither shall I go from thy spirit? Or whither shall I flee from they presence? If I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. ”

Omnipresent – present in all places at all times.

Key Concept – God is everywhere. He is a spirit and is not limited by a physical body like we are.

Corresponding scriptures:

Proverbs 15:3 – The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.”

Jeremiah 23:23-24 -“Am I a God at hand, saith the Lord, and not a God afar off? Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord.”

Isaiah 57:15 – “For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.”

You can find a link to help guide you as you help your child(ren) understand that God is Omnipresent: here.

This month we will be studying turkeys using The Handbook of Nature Study to help direct our learning. The morning time bundle will help guide you through this process.

Here is an online resource that is linked in the bundle that may be used in your studies: Eastern Hemlock

Something warm for a winter day! I hope you enjoy making these precious felt mittens during your morning times this month.

This month we are studying the life of President Warren G. Harding.

****The Ultimate Guide to the Presidents is no longer freely accessible on Youtube.*** As such, I will no longer be linking them in the morning time bundle. This has been such a wonderful resource, one that I am sad to leave out. If you would like to continue your president study with this resource, you can find it: here.

This month I want to give a special thank you to my sister for making the recipe for this bundle. She loves decorating cookies and has a special talent in doing so. She made the fun winter trees and snowflakes we are enjoying this month. Here helping hand was a sweet reminder of how much these bundles bring those I love together…I hope you experience the same.

The morning time bundle also includes a guide to help aid you in the implementation of this study. It includes 4 weeks of a suggested learning rotation that will help you cover all of the topics included  for the month. This is simply a guide. You can add to or take from it as you wish and as your learning leads you.

Thank you so much for your continued support of my small business. I hope that these bundles bless your family time together and that ultimately they draw you closer to Christ who loves you so dearly.

Wishing you and your family a very Happy New Year
