Ingredients

For the Batter

  • 1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter Melted
  • 3/4 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. Maple Syrup (optional)
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 tsp Maple Extract (optional)
  • 1 Cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 Cup Chopped Pecans (optional)
  • 4 oz White Chocolate Chips

For the Glaze

  • 1.5 Cups Powdered Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. Maple Syrup
  • 3.5 Tbsp. Heavy Cream

Instructions

Preparing the Brownies

  1. Preheat an oven to 350*

  2. Line a 9" X 9" pan with parchment paper and set aside.

  3. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar. Add the maple syrup, egg, vanilla and maple extract and mix well.

  4. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and fold together until there are no clumps of flour remaining. Fold in the pecans and white chocolate chips.

  5. Pour the batter into your prepared pan and spread into an even layer.

  6. Bake for 30 minutes or until the brownies are golden brown or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Be sure not to overbake.

  7. Set aside to cool completely before glazing.

Preparing the Glaze

  1. While the brownies cool, make a glaze by combining the powdered sugar, maple syrup, heavy cream, and salt in a small mixing bowl. Use a whisk to mix until it is creamy and no lumps of sugar remain.

  2. Pour the glaze over the cooled brownies and spread evenly. Allow the glaze to harden before cutting
