If I’m honest, sometimes I am sad to see the months pass so quickly. There are times I would like to settle in and linger on these bundles just a little bit longer. But, as you know, time rests for no one, and the seasons will continue to change. Though it would be fun to pause on the October morning time bundle a little longer, I am excited about the November bundle. I hope that after you see all of the riches that are in store for you, that you will be too.
The November Simple Guide to Morning Time focuses on nothing less than Thanksgiving and pumpkins, two things that are synonymous with this favorite, end-of-fall month. We will be wrapping up the season with pumpkin snickerdoodles, yarn pumpkins, a hymn of gratefulness, and so much more. I hope you will join us! MUSIC
A hymn of gratefulness will be our music focus this November. Not only will we learn of the things that F.S.Pierpoint was thankful for. We will also create a list of the things for which we are grateful. This is a practice that is worth doing over and over again.
It is said that 29-year-old F.S. Pierpoint was sitting on a hilltop somewhere in England enjoying the beauty of God’s creation when he was inspired to write the words of this hymn. In it, he shares gratitude for creation, family, friends, the Church, our senses, and for God Himself.

POETRY
Our November poem reminds us to remember the small things. Traditions, reconciliation, joy, and gatherings sometimes come from things that appear small and seemingly insignificant.
Ah! On Thanksgiving day, when from east and from west,
From north and from south comes the pilgrim and guest;
When the gray-haired New Englander sees round his board
The old broken links of affection restored,
When the care-wearied man sees his mother once more,
And the worn matron smiles where the girl smiled before,
What moistens the lip and what brightens the eye?
What calls back the past, like the rich pumpkin pie?

ART
The art painting we are observing this month is a beautiful picture of Thanksgiving by Norman Rockwell. Mr. Rockwell is probably no stranger to most of us. We are familiar with his art, but this month’s piece may have a story you are unfamiliar with.
Freedom from Want, also known as the Thanksgiving picture, is the third of a four-part series titled the Four Freedoms. These works were inspired by President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s 1941 State of the Union Address that outlined the four freedoms that all humans should experience. These freedoms are freedom of speech, freedom of worship, freedom from want, and freedom from fear.

SCRIPTURE
This month we are continuing our study of the character qualities of God, specifically that He is immutable.
Our memory verse is:
James 1:17 – “Every good and perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”
Vocabulary:
Immutable – not capable of or susceptible to change.
Key Concept – God never changes. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Corresponding scriptures:
Malachi 3:6 – “For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.”
Psalm 102:12,25-28 – “But thou, O Lord, shall endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations. Of old has thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands. They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed: But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end. The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee.”

NATURE STUDY
This month we will be studying the Pumpkin using The Handbook of Nature Study to help direct our learning. The morning time bundle will help guide you through this process.
Here is an online resource that is linked in the bundle and may be used in your studies: Underwood Family Farms – Virtual Pumpkin Tour
CRAFT
Last month we were saturated in autumn leaves, this month we will focus on the pumpkin. You will be putting together these sweet styrofoam yarn pumpkins. I made mine using an assortment of colors that I thought would look pretty sitting around our home as we wrap up this fall season. I know they will only be out for a short while, but we will definitely enjoy them while they are.
CHARACTER STUDY
This month we are studying the life of President Woodrow Wilson.
You can find The Ultimate Guide to the Presidents section for Wilson here: The Ultimate Guide to the Presidents: America Enters a Dangerous New Century. Begin around minute 27:16 and watch till the end.

RECIPE
Pumpkin Snickerdoodles are on this month’s menu! It seems that cookies don’t make an appearance very often in these morning time bundles, so this month we are fixing that with a delicious seasonal cookie. I will just warn you in advance! These cookies are addicting. I caught every person in my family (including myself) sneaking one or two every time we passed them.
SCHEDULE
The morning time bundle also includes a guide to help aid you in the implementation of this study. It includes 4 weeks of a suggested learning rotation that will help you cover all of the topics included for the month. This is simply a guide. You can add to or take from it as you wish and as your learning leads you.
Thank you so much for your continued support of my small business. I hope that these bundles bless your family time together and that ultimately they draw you closer to Christ who loves you so dearly.
Please know that I am praying for you as you lead your family toward love and good deeds.
