Some of my favorite recipes are the ones that can be used time and time again. I especially love them if they can be used for different types of occasions. This strawberry cream soda is both and that is why I have kept around for a long time. It is simple enough to keep on hand as a cool summer afternoon refreshment, yet classy enough to be used for a baby shower or another special event. If you want to treat your loved ones with something simple, delicious, and refreshing this recipe is for you.
Simple Steps To Strawberry Cream Soda
This beverage requires only a few simple steps and can be made in less than 45 minutes. Your first step is creating a simple syrup with your fresh strawberries. Once this simple syrup is made, combining the rest of the ingredients is as easy as pouring yourself a cold drink! It truly is as easy as that. So grab your ingredients and let’s make something tasty.
What you need:
- 8 oz. Strawberries
- 1 Cup Water
- 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
- Club Soda
- Half-and-Half
Prepare The Simple Syrup
The strawberry simple syrup is a great addition to this recipe. Additionally, it is a great in sweet tea, lemonade, or on top of a banana split. Making the syrup is the most time consuming step in creating your strawberry cream soda, but is in no way complicated. Simple syrup is made by cooking equal parts sugar and water until the mixture is slightly thickened. It can be used as a sweetener in cooking or baking. We’re adding strawberries to ours for added flavor, but it can also be made with raspberries, blueberries, peaches, or blackberries. When the syrup is finished, transfer it to an airtight container. It can be stored here for up to one month.
Combine the Syrup, Soda, & Cream
When the syrup is cool you can add all of the ingredients together to make your strawberry cream soda. I poured my drink into a ball canning jar and while this is not “required” I do recommend pouring your drink in a clear container simply for the joy found in watching the ingredients mix. The amounts of cream, soda, and syrup listed for each cup in the recipe can be adapted based on personal preferences. Some may like more syrup, less cream, or no cream at all. Adjust these to you own liking.
