The recipe for these brownies first found its way into our home as part of one of our morning time studies and quickly became a favorite worthy of its own place here. Making special recipes each month has shown me that some of them deserve a “special feature” and a dedicated time to shine; this is most certainly one of them.

Instructions
Preparing the Brownies
-
Preheat an oven to 350*
-
Line a 9" X 9" pan with parchment paper and set aside.
-
In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar. Add the maple syrup, egg, vanilla and maple extract and mix well.
-
In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and fold together until there are no clumps of flour remaining. Fold in the pecans and white chocolate chips.

Pour the batter into your prepared pan and spread into an even layer.

Set aside to cool completely before glazing.
Preparing the Glaze
-
While the brownies cool, make a glaze by combining the powdered sugar, maple syrup, heavy cream, and salt in a small mixing bowl. Use a whisk to mix until it is creamy and no lumps of sugar remain.

Pour the glaze over the cooled brownies and spread evenly. Allow the glaze to harden before cutting
One of the things I appreciate about this recipe is its maple sweet richness. These brownies will satisfy your desire for something sweet yet are rich enough to keep you from eating too many. I appreciate this for so many reasons, but, first and foremost, for its ability to keep me in check. In our home, desserts are often made and devoured within a day. These brownies always hang around a bit longer making sure every bite is enjoyed to its fullest.
